The XAG V40 is an agricultural spray drone made by XAG. When you select it in PulveCast, the app loads the limits below and checks every forecast hour against them, together with Delta T, humidity, drift risk and thermal inversion.

## Wind: flight limit and spraying window

A maximum wind resistance of 11 km/h (3.1 m/s, 7 mph) means the XAG V40 can hold its position and route in that wind. It is not a recommendation for spraying: the stronger the wind, the more droplets leave the target, especially fine ones. Most labels and extension guides place the useful spraying window well below the flight limit, and dead calm is also a warning sign of a [thermal inversion](https://pulvecast.com/guides/thermal-inversion).

### How PulveCast rates the wind for the XAG V40

- Green: wind up to 9.9 km/h (90 % of the limit)
- Yellow: from 9.9 to 11 km/h, close to the limit
- Red: above 11 km/h, outside what the drone is rated for

The drift card is scored separately, from the wind speed and the droplet class of your nozzle, so an hour can be green for the aircraft and still yellow or red for drift.

## Temperature

The XAG V40 is rated to operate from -10 to 40 °C (14 to 104 °F). Outside that range batteries and electronics are outside their specification. Heat also raises Delta T, so on hot afternoons evaporation usually closes the spray window before the drone limit does.

## Other conditions to check

- [Delta T](https://pulvecast.com/guides/delta-t) between 2 and 8 °C, so droplets neither hang in the air nor evaporate.
- [Thermal inversion](https://pulvecast.com/guides/thermal-inversion): common at dawn and dusk on calm, clear days.
- [Rain](https://pulvecast.com/guides/rain-and-spraying) before the product becomes rainfast, as stated on the label.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the maximum wind speed for the XAG V40?

The XAG V40 is rated for wind up to 11 km/h (3.1 m/s). That is a flight limit; for spraying, drift usually sets a lower practical limit, so check the product label and the drift risk for your nozzle.

### At what temperature can the XAG V40 operate?

From -10 to 40 °C (14 to 104 °F), according to the specification loaded in PulveCast.

### What is the best weather to spray with the XAG V40?

Moderate, steady wind well below the drone limit, Delta T between 2 and 8 °C, no thermal inversion and no rain expected before the product is rainfast. PulveCast combines all of these into one verdict per hour.

## Check the spray window before you go to the field

PulveCast gives a green, yellow or red verdict for every hour from Delta T, humidity, wind, gusts, drift risk and thermal inversion. Free on Android and iOS, no account needed.
